Choosing The Perfect Flower

Although it is common to give a single rose, other flowers are often given as bouquets, consisting of either a single variety/colour or a combination of a few different flowers and colours.
It's nice to know what's popular, but how do you choose the perfect flower? First of all, you need to know what flowers symbolize.
Almost every type of flower has its own individual meaning. Throughout history, certain types of flowers have been used to symbolize different things. For example the rose, in ancient times a symbol of joy, later became a symbol of secrecy and silence, and is today associated with love and romance.
If you don't know what type of flower to buy you might want to decide what you want to say and choose the flower that says it better than you ever could. Use the Language of Flowers chart to find out what your favourite flowers symbolize.
